The Abbot Academy Collection primarily consists of material relating to the administrative functions of the Academy. It includes material of the trustees, treasurer, and other administrative offices. The collection also includes Abbot Academy memorabilia and student-created work ranging from the late 19th century until the merger with Phillips Academy in 1973. The digital collection highlights unique parts of the Abbot Academy Collection through manuscript, archives, photographs, and ephemera. Material selected for this site and its exhibits documents Abbot Academy (Abbot Female Academy; Abbot Female Seminary) from its founding in 1829 to its merger with Phillips Academy in 1973. This project was made possible with generous funding by the Abbot Academy Association and was completed in 2016-2017 by Laura Carter.
