Description
A postcard of the library in Fernside in Princeton, Massachusetts on the side of Mount Wachusett. Books were available for guests and there was entertainment available there such as games of charades, musicals, theatricals and dancing. Fernside was a resort hotel for working women that would not have been able to afford a vacation otherwise. A weeks stay cost $3 in 1890 and $70 in the 1980s. Fernside's final summer was 1988. Today Fernside is run as a rehabilitation center by the McClean Hospital.
