Description
Blanchard building located on the corner of Main and Elm streets. The Strand Theatre, operated by the Blanchard Brothers, was housed in this building. Cinema posters are pasted onto the side wall. This was the site of a few fires over the years - one notable one in 1927. An interesting ingress to the building via a covered stairs is shown. Ten chimney stacks are on view atop the building. Note the "Berry Cigar Indian" in front of the store. A horse drawn wagon with stacked wood is parked at the curb. There is a sign advertising a restaurant in the building. Many electricity poles on view. A glimpse of Central Street is provided on the right.
