Description
View of the north side of Main Street from Notre Dame Church to the Hartwell building on the corner of Central Street. Hartwell's Pharmacy, run by Samuel Hartwell, Apothecary is in the foreground. The original balcony over the main entrance has been covered with a sign 'Drugs'. A pestle and mortar advertising the business is hanging over the doorway. The striped awnings are retracted. Universalist church is in the distance and is recognizable by its original steeple. Many small groups of people are gathered in front of the buildings in the block. Icicles hang from the buildings in the middle of the block. Snow covers the street and foreground.
