During the three-day centennial celebrations in Southbridge, there were two ball games scheduled, one at 3.15 p.m., on July 3rd - American Optical vs. Marlboro and the other on July 4th at 3.30 p.m., when the American Optical were playing Putnam, Ct. Both games were played at the Wellsworth Field. Groups of children are shown in groups. The adults are in the background. J. Frank Morrissey was responsible for the sports and fireworks, according to the program.
