Description
Dashing portrait of the young Charles E. Monroe in formal wear. Monroe is shown in top coat, suit with fob watch, leather gloves and derby hat. His shirt has a high collar and is secured with a button. Monroe was soon to leave his home town of Providence, Rhode Island and move to Southbridge, Massachusetts where he initially had a jewelry and watch business. Later he became an optometrist and set up on his own.
