Description

Image of the Holyoke Daily Transcript building on High and John Streets. From 1863-1993, the Holyoke Daily Transcript, later the Transcript Telegram, was the major source for Holyoke’s news. This image shows the brick facade of the Transcript, along with that of John Howe’s bakery. The bricks form bands of Romanesque arches. Members of the Transcript’s staff sit in the six front windows; two men stand on the front stairs while a third stands in the background. A horse and carriage stands in front of the building.
