sign of higher progress in virtue and righteousn

Our beloved Br, John Calkins of South Wilbraham
has sent in the names of seven su bscribers,
with the money for the same, and 5ays:
· '. Go on my Br, with your little few, in the
strength of Gideon's God, and prosper."
The following is from one of our old and fast
friends, who loves the truth, and though not
prepared to subscribe to all our peculiarities 1M
not afraid to trust himself in the broad daylight
of intonuation. He is a Restcrationist of tho
right slamp,- and goes for practical christianity
and the world's reform. God giloe us lIIuny
such auxiliaries in the cause of truth and righteousness.

For the following respectful notice of our little
1V0rk, in the Liberator of May 1, we acknowledge
our fraternal obligations. II has made the
Practical Christian known to many friends, who
otherwise would not have heard of its existence
for a long time.
The Practical Cltristian.-\ Ve have received '
and perused, with no ordinary satisfaction, the
first number of a small sheet to be issued semimonthly
at Mendon in this State, called • The
Practical Christian.' The regular contributors
to the paper will be Adin Ballou, ( Editor and
Publishing Agent;) David R. Lamson, Geo. W.
Stacy, Daniel S. Whitney, and Wn: t. H. Fish.
Its object is nobly set forth in its title- it is,
Practical Chrilltianity. [ Then follows an extract
from our Prospectus, which we omit.) We
hail the appearance of such a periodical as another
cheering and important sign of the times,
and commend it to the patronage of all those who
hate iniquity, eschew sectarianism, rejoice ill
the doctrine of christian perfection, and believe
that the will of God is yet to be done on earth
us it is in heaven. It espouses the cause of
Non Resistance, Abolition, Temperance, Moral
Reform, ~ c.
