Description
Twenty-two men posing while in dress Civil War uniforms in front of a clapboard building, probably the Grand Army of the Republic meeting house formerly on Church Street across from Price Street in Hopkinton Ma. Hand labeling indicates they are sons of Civil War veterans. Note the flag, drum and Civil War regalia. Many Hopkinton veterans became members of the G.A.R. from 1890-early 1900's. Chapter 14 was named for Charles C. Phillips of the town, of Co. E. 26th Massachusetts volunteers and died at The Battle of Winchester in Virginia.
