Description
President of Barry-Wright Company, which contributed funds for the publication of "Crossroads on the Charles". Mr. Pietz began the Corporation with the shock mount and served with the company as Chairman and President from 1943 until his retirement in 1981. He then served as Honorary Chairman and Director of the Barry Wright Corporation. He was the second recipient of the SDSM&T Guy E. March Silver Medal, received an Honorary Doctorate from SDSM&T in 1966, and was named as one of the Outstanding 100 Alumni of SDSM&T during its Centennial Celebration in 1985. Mr. Pietz has also received numerous prestigious awards in Massachusetts. Mr. Pietz passed away in June 2003.
