Trolley tracks in the street. People in the front window. Owned by Francis J. and Thomas E. Hackett. They sold meat, fruit , vegetables and "Belmont sausages." This store was at 7 Galen Street and later (1905) moved to 25 Main Street and in 1921 to 21 Main Street. Their parents were Catherine and Peter Hackett. After Peter died (before 1874) his wife ran a boarding house. Catherine died in 1904. Thomas E. married in 1890 to Minnie L. He was the president of the store and he died in 1908. Their children would clerk in the store. Francis J. never married and died in 1933. Francis was the treasurer and secretary. Minnie became president after Thomas' death and also the principal of the Coolidge School in 1912. She later became assistant principal in 1917 until she retired in 1926. Minnie died in 1932.
