Description
Grand Army of the Republic member Edmond P. Buck. He was a member of C.C. Phillip's Post 14 which had monthly meetings on Church Street. He is spectacled has a moustache and wears his G.A.R. badge. The type written label indicates that he served in Co. C ,1st Maine Cavalry. There were approximately 54 Hopkinton members who formed a charter in 1882 and remained active until at least 1929. The post was named For Charles C. Phillips. Note G.A.R. membership badge on lapel with eagle, American flag ribbon and shield with engraved insignia. The 5 pointed star is a principle G.A.R. symbol.
