THE TWENTY= THIRD
ANNUAL FIELD DAY
This year's Field Day of Draper Corporation employes
was favored by the weather man. Saturday, August 11,
was a clear midsummer day, hot enough for good efforts
by the athletes and with a fresh breeze after midday that
kept both spectators and contestants in fme fettle for a
keen enjoyment of the program the committee had
provided.
The feature parade of the " night before" was
postponed to the following Wednesday because of the
funeral of President Harding, but the outdoor movie was
given as originally planned. The play, " Robin Hood"
with Douglas Fairbanks in the title role, was witnessed by
a capacity crowd on the green in the rear of the office
building and by hundreds in automobiles parked in the
surrounding streets. The entertainment was provided
free by Hopedale Community House, Inc.
The program of sports on Saturday, which started at
8.30 A. M. and ended with the ball game in the late
afternoon, was similar to previous years, but with a few
novelties added for variety.
