The monument is part of the Common Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.;Photos show views of the World War Two Memorial on the Common approximately opposite Park Street, financed by citizens' donations to commemorate Wakefield's casualties. The monument was sponsored by the Corporal Harry E. Nelson Post 63, American Legion, and designed by John H. Rogers. Photos taken in winter 2007.
