Postcard shows a panoramic view of the Common looking east from the tower of the First Parish Congregational Church. Main Street runs from left to right, and Church Street divides the Common in the center of the view. On the left is the 1885 band stand and on the right the 1902 Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial. At the extreme right the Lincoln School is visible in the distance.
