Description

Photos show the house located at 28 Pleasant Street on the east side of the street opposite Eaton Street. Built between 1760 and 1765, the Federal style house with several later alterations is of wood frame construction and has a shingle exterior. The house was originally the home of John Batchelor, and was later known as the Thomas Evans house after its owner, shoe manufacturer Thomas Evans, Jr. and was located at 9 Salem Street.
