introduce to this audience a man of whom this State
has reason to be very proud. The longer a ; man IS in
public life, the more he realizes how indispensable to
the welfare of the nation it js that its public men
possess those great fundamental qualities which In
their sum make up character. And I introduce to
you a man whom all of us honor, because to sound
common sense he adds an unflinching courage and
highest probity."

Draper from 1909-1911. Eben Sumner Draper served as the Lieutenant Governor in Massachusetts from January, 1906 until January, 1909 when he took over the Governorship from Governor Curtis Guild, Jr. due to an illness. He served as Governor until January, 1911.
