Description
A flower and vine pattern colored in a rich purple. The pattern has two leaves on either side of a middle vine with a circle in the middle. Flowers are on each end. The design was most likely drawn by W. Joseph Carr and used for the carved patterns on wood furniture. Joseph Carr was a noted furniture designer, artist, cartoonist and sculptor from Gardner, Massachusetts. He worked for the Heywood-Wakefield Company as a furniture designer from 1936 till the company closed its doors in 1979. He also did freelance furniture designs for a variety of furniture companies including S. Bent & Brothers, Inc.
