A drawing of two gnomes by W. Joseph Carr. One gnome faces forward while the other is drawn in profile. The gnomes are dressed in a top hat, curly shoes and a coat with large buttons. Joseph Carr was a noted furniture designer, artist, cartoonist and sculptor from Gardner, Massachusetts. He worked for the Heywood-Wakefield Company as a furniture designer from 1936 till the company closed its doors in 1979. He also did freelance furniture designs for a variety of furniture companies including S. Bent & Brothers, Inc.
