THIS INSTITUTION, now in the sixty- eighth year of its history,


is better prepared than ever before to receive and educate pupils of


both sexes, in scientific or classical branches. DRAWING, mathematical


and free hand, PRACTICAL CIVIL ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING, PRACTICAL


AND EXPERIMENTAL CHEMISTRY, with new and expensive appliances.


PRACTl~ AL ASTRONOMY, with two large telescopes, one of which is a re­fleCtor


of 6 1- 2 inch aperture, equatorially mounted, a library of over


2000 volumes, telegmphic communication with the world, direCt from the


Observatory, vIa the \ Vestern Union Lines, are some of the educational advan­tages


offered to students, while for those who come from other towns, a good


home is furnished which has no superior for health and comfort in ~ ny ~ du­catlOnal


establishment fn'tfte United states. The buildings are of brick of


modern style, and furnished in the best manner. Hot and cold water and


modern bathing and sanitary arrangements and appliances. Best of care of


health and morals. Dudley is seventeen miles south of Worcester, and Web­ster


is the mil road station. Boston and Providence can be reached by cars


in two hours.
