Village Square Fire Station toward Jamaica Way

Dublin Core

Title

Village Square Fire Station toward Jamaica Way

Description

The fire station was designed by Louis Weissbein in 1870. The view is from Village Square towards the Jamaica Way. White's Block, adjacent to the fire station is typical of the wooden mansard commercial structures in this area of town. The panel brick building in the center was built in the 1870s and became the style representative of Brookline Village. Note the Russell Block sign on the second floor of the wooden commercial buildings on the left.
