These stone and residential blocks were erected in 1891-2 by Fehmer & Page architects and were described as an "experiment in domestic economy." The Beaconsfield development was an early condominium arrangement in which people individually owned their own units and shared communal amenities such as park, stables, clubhouse and tennis courts.
