Description

Runkle School, named for John D. Runkle, an incorporator and second president of MIT and a member of the Brookline School Committee. Designed by Cabot, Everett & Mead, the six room brick schoolhouse opened in 1897. The school was demolished in 1962 to make way for a new Runkle School that opened in 1963.
