Static Repository
Definition:
A Static Repository is an XML file that contains metadata records and is structured in such a way that it can be harvested via the OAI-PMH. This XML file must be made available at a persistent web address. Within the Digital Commonwealth portal, this type of file allows institutions with digital content to supply metadata for harvesting without requiring the institution to be an OAI-PMH data provider with a server that responds to OAI-PMH requests.
