"Letters From Two Brothers Serving In The War For The Union To Their Family At Home In West Cambridge, MA". Printed for private circulation. The brothers are Warren H. Freeman who served as a private in the Thirteenth and in the Thirty-ninth Massachusetts, and Eugene H. Freeman who was an engineer in the transport service. It is a collection of the letters they wrote home during the Civil War. December 21st, 1861 to March 16th, 1865. Letters show that Warren fought at Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and Petersburg, and was briefly a prisoner of war in July of 1863. His enlistment expired in 1863, and he re-enlisted and was discharged on September 13th, 1864. His final letter to his parents before his return to West Cambridge is September 15th, 1864.
