Photograph of the plaque for the Edward Lee King Backstop mounted on the campus baseball field. The plaque reads: "Edward Lee King Backstop - Erected by the Class of 1916 in honor of its Varsity members - June 7, 1941". Mr. King (Class of 1916) was a member of the Massachusetts Agricultural College varsity baseball team and after graduation played with the Philadelphia American League baseball club, the Boston National League club, the Springfield club in the Eastern League, and had been sold to the Boston Red Sox before entering a manufacturing business with his father.
