John Dos Passos was an American novelist, most notable for his U.S.A. trilogy. Francis Russell was an American author specializing in American history and historical figures. His research led to the award winning book \Tragedy In Dedham : The Story of the Sacco-Vanzetti Case\ (1962). In this letter form Dos Passos to Russell, he informs to Russell that he went to North Plymouth talking to people Vanzetti sold fish to and concluded that Vanzetti's albi was sound. Toward the end of his letter, he notes that the Sacco-Vanzetti case was the last big moment in the international anarchist movement. He further mentions that he is gald that Russell is pursuing research in the Sacco-Vanzetti case without any bias. The Sacco-Vanzetti Case garnered an enduring national and global interest even decades after their excution. This letter and others found in the collection shed insight into the constant efforts of prominent figures and scholars to exonierate Sacco and Vanzetti.
