Description:
From left to right are Roger Herzog (?), Richard Thal, Pedro Posada (?), and Meg Perkins Ames. They stand near the chain link fence that marks off the Taino Tower construction site. Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción purchased the former Shawmut Congregational Church (gutted by fire in 1978), and developed a 27-unit mixed-income condominium project on the site. They called the new building Taino Tower, after the original inhabitants of Puerto Rico. The project maintained the church tower and the church's original arched doors. The condos were put on the market in 1991.
