Beginning in 1977 through 1989, La Alianza Hispana hosted a Three Kings' Day celebration, an important religious holiday for Latinos generally observed on January 6, twelve days after Christmas. The event was administered annually by Youth Development Unit of La Alianza Hispana. The Three Kings' Day celebrations at La Alianza Hispana included a reenactment of this event, sometimes with a pageant, party, and gifts. In this photograph, the young boy onstage holds a book in his hands and reads with an animated and smiling expression on his face as he entertains the audience. Partially visible in the right background, there is a sheep made out of cardboard and paper, part of the scenery used for the reenactment of the Epiphany.
