Oval pasteboard bandbox with no lid. The box exterior is covered with multiple layers of wallpaper. The uppermost layer covering the sides of the box is a block-printed blue, yellow and green floral pattern outlined in black on white ground, dated 1845. The wallpaper layer below - first layer - is a large pink, white and green floral pattern on yellow ground. Remnants of a third paper covering the exterior base of the box is a blue, brown, and white striped pattern with alternating floral and solid stripes on gray ground. It was applied on top of, and perhaps at the same time as, the uppermost layer of wallpaper on the sides of the box.
