This photograph depicts International YMCA Training School, now Springfield College, students on the steps of the East Gymnasium, c. 1903. Along with the students is President Doggett and professor Kinnicutt (in the center). In order are (front row, L to R): Frederick Wise (1902), Thomas A. Clark (1903), (second row): Von Victor Roseboro (1903), Dr. Laurence Locke Doggett, Dr. William H. Kinnicutt [of the Cleveland, Ohio YMCA and Class of 1890 and GS 1894), and John T. Cowley (1903) on top step. Dr. Doggett was Springfield College's fourth president. He was also the first full-time president and served in the position from 1896-1936. Doggett was instrumental in developing and implementing the College's Humanics philosophy which still guides the college to this day. He retired in 1936 and remains Springfield College's longest tenured president.
