Springfield College released this sports press release, titled “Hughes, Kosinski win Eastern wrestling titles; headed for nationals along with Allen and Arroyo,” on February 21, 1984. The release announces that Pat Hughes, Craig Kosinski, Daryl Arroyo, and Pat Allen were to represent the Eastern Region in the NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championships. It then describes the athletic achievements of those four alumni across the course of the wrestling season.

Arroyo attended and wrestled for Springfield College, and was a Division II All-American his senior year. He graduated from Springfield with a Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness in 1984. He then served as an assistant wrestling coach at California State University, Fullerton for three years where he received his Master's Degree in Physical Education. At Springfield, he coached for 21 seasons, and ended his career with 301 wins, 160 losses and 6 ties, for a .651 winning percentage. He was named Coach of the Year in 1991, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2011.
