A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman expresses his frustration that Hitchcock has not received some books and explains his assumption that Dr. Percival took them with him on an excursion. Silliman also predicts the fast general acceptance of ideas about the implications of geology for time, and comments on his earnings for courses he taught.
