Account book, inscribed "Amos Whittemore, Dec.31, 1814" used by his son, Henry Whittemore, to disburse Amos Whittemore estate in 1828. Henry Whittemore first wrote up the will on April 8, 1828, following the death of Amos Whittemore on March 27, 1828, and concluded it on January 12, 1830. This document was hence signed by the following: Timothy Whittemore (brother), Latitia Fiske (daughter), Lay Davis, Harriet Forte (daughter), Horatio Fiske (son in-law), Herman Forte (son in-law), Gershom Whittemore (son), Helen Prentiss (daughter), Henry Whittemore (son), Jonas Prentiss (son in-law), and with Henry Whittemore as administrator and executor, and Joshua Avery, Artemas Locke, and Isaac Locke as the Committee. After appraising the value of all articles and land, said money and land was disbursed as follows: Helen Whittemore received the use of the House and furniture, well as $883.81 worth of articles retained by her family from auction. Timothy Whittemore received 7.75 acres and 15 rods of land, as well as another 17 rods, 10 links, 1.25 acres of assorted land, which, after payments, amounts to $1057.33. Harriet Foster (Forte?) received 3.5 acres and 17 rods of land, including that of Robbins, which amounts to $1057.33. Henry Whittemore received 9,840 square feet, with the easterly half of the House and Pew No. 4 from the Unitarian Meeting-House, which, after payments, amounts to $1057.33. Helen Prentiss received 2,074 square feet of land and the westerly half of the House, the Brook Garden and Barn, 2/3 of Pew No. 42 from the Unitarian Meeting-House, and addittional payment from Henry Whittemore, which amounts to $1057.33. Gershom Whittemore received $1057.33. Latitia Fiske received, from Timothy Whittemore, $1057.33. The Heirs of Amos Whittemore received from Timothy Whittemore and Henry Whittemore, $1057.33. The Grand Total was $7401.31.
