Browne graduated from the International YMCA Training School (now Springfield College) in 1898. He went on to become a Captain during World War I . This picture was taken at Camp Gordon, Georgia in August, 1918. He also served as the Director of Physical Training, Commandant Bayonet and the Director of Physical Training School at Camp Gordon. After the war, he was in charge of physical training of wounded soldiers in the Surgeon's General Office. This is a photograph from a scrapbook containing photographs of Alumni of Springfield College belonging to classes from 1887 to 1912.
