A man thinks that comedies are no longer sufficient for his talents and he therefore rehearses a tragedy. LES COMÉDIENS DE SOCIÉTÉ, (the amateur comedians) a series of 16 prints which appeared in the CHARIVARI from April to June 1858.This series also existed as an album in-4 cart. This remarkable series dealing with the theater and its surroundings is part of Daumier's real masterpieces. It is quite difficult to find good impressions sur blanc of this series.
