Letter from Phillip N. Pike to Millard "Jack" Pike
Description:
Phil heard from Helen that Gus was put in the east artillery and was enjoying it, and that Jay expected to be sent overseas soon although Phil is sceptical of that. He guesses that Millard's serial number won't amount to much now and for that he should be thankful. Although he hasn't seen any battles, he's seen enough to be convinced that war is hell. The principle talk around camp now is when they will leave for home, but if Phil is home within six months he will consider himself lucky.
