Submission text: The day of the Boston Marathon was supposed to be a day filled with joy, excitement , and celebration. That all changed for everyone that was there last year. I'll get to the point, when the 2 explosions went off, a lot people, depending where they stood, didn't know what to make of what happened. I attended the marathon shortly after I got out of work. By the time I got there, the winners of the race had already passed. Though the winners had already crossed, I still wanted to be a spectator and watch the remaining on-coming runners get cheered on. I had attended the marathon on my own but and wanted to make the best of it. When the explosion went off , I was right in the middle of the explosions. When the first one went off, the crowd around me didn't know what to make of it, and were all just confused on what just happened. People suspected that it had been a bomb, but no one was sure what had happened. From where we were positioned, we were close of enough to here explosion, but we were not close enough to know exactly what happened or see the devastation that had occurred. All I remember doing after the 2nd one went off, were people running for their lives not wanting to stick around in case another bomb would had gone off. By the time I had got home, and saw the news, that when I knew I was one of the lucky ones who was not uninjured. Seeing what I had survived, I thank God I am alive. For those who were injured, I was upset, mad, confuse, and devastated on what happened. Overall, I am happy that people of Boston band together and were resilient and remained STRONG throughout this ordeal. Together as a city, they were able build money for the One Fund, capture 1 of the 2 cowards who cause this, and won a Championship that meant a lot more than winning. This is a great city, and as a people we will strive one and keep on running. #BostonStrong
