Bust-length daguerreotype portrait of Calista Billings who married Edward W.Kinsley in Boston in 1856. Portrait is executed in the crayon vignette style patented by Whipple in 1849 and popularized by him in the early 1850's. Title devised by curator. Plain oval mat. Ornate protector. Stamped on mat lower left: Whipple's. Stamped on lower right: Patent. Decorative protector. Wood case covered in brown leather. Single pushbutton closure on right. Casepaper reads: King [illegible].
