Buford Boone was an editor for the newspaper, The Tuscaloosa News, during one of the most pivotal moments during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s. He worked to expose the identities of KKK members, as well as being an advocate for desegregation efforts in Tuscaloosa County. His artticle "A Price for Peace" garnered national recognition and earned him a Pulitzer Prize. A series featuring citizens and communties across the state of Alabama. The Alabama Experience aims to explore cultural and historical places, as well as the people who occupy them.
