Letter from Mark H. McCormack to Kenneth J. Whalen
Description:
McCormack informs Kenneth J. Whalen that he has given quite a bit of thought to the problems and goals Whalen mentioned to him and suggests the possibility of AT&T undertaking the sponsorship of certain top-quality sports films. He explains that AT&T's various companies throughout the United States might make these films available to local country clubs and business organizations. He identifies the audience that Whalen is trying to reach and indicates that this would be an excellent vehicle for accomplishing that. The films McCormack has in mind are The U. S. Open Documentary, U.S.G.A. Rules Film, the Wimbledon Centennary Film, New Tennis Instructional Films, and the British Open Documentary. He offers a brief description of each film and expresses interest in meeting with Whalen to discuss the concepts presented in the letter.
