"'Coverage Lost' explores the plight of Southern California's ever increasing population of the medically uninsured. The program will focus on this nationwide problem that is reaching crisis proportions in California. The problem is even more severe in Los Angeles. In Los Angeles County, 27% of all non elderly adults and 30% of all children are uninsured. This is almost twice the national average. Solutions will also be explored and discussed, such as legislation that would provide all Californians with a minimum health care package, no matter what their individual state of employment."--1989 Peabody Awards entry form.
