- Voyons, bobonne..., n'agace pas comme ça la mer...., elle n'aurait qu'à devenir tout d'un coup méchante et nous n'aurions pas le temps de nous sauver!....

Title (alt.):
- Please, my dear..., stop provoking the sea...., it might react viciously and we wouldn't have any time to save ourselves!..... Charivari
Description:
A woman has fallen while swimming in the sea and her husband tells her not to get upset as the ocean can become forceful before they know it and they can't do anything about it. During the dog days, many people flocked to the sea to get some relief from the heat. "La canicule" or "Dog-Days" were the extremely hot and humid summer days one still encounters nowadays between July 3 and August 11 in Paris.
