Sadie Kessel forgot to pack her union suit and her mother, Louisa Gass is sending it with Mis Findley, who will be visiting Monmonth in a few days time. Louisa goes on to talk about recent happenings in town. She notes that her pen is giving her trouble and spilling ink all over the letter. She ends the letter by wishing Sadie well and admits she is envious that Sadie is reading Homer.
