Title (alt.):
Shaemas O'Sheel Letters
Description:
Shaemas O'Sheel, born James Shields, was an Irish American poet and critic. He was also an adamant communist, supporter of the Soviet Union, and active in the Irish independence movement. Throughout the Sacco and Vanzetti case, O'Sheel did what he could to support the cause. In this letter, he admits that he has had some financial troubles and is sending what he can. This letter and others in this collection show the international and national efforts numerous citizens made to support the National Sacco-Vanzetti League.
