McCormack writes Barron Hilton to outline his ideas for a prestigious seniors event planned to be held in Las Vegas in May of 1982. He indicates that the name of the event would be The Hilton World Seniors Match Play Championship and explains his ideas for the fromat, player qualifications, prize money, dates, implementation, and television coverage of the event. He explains that they would limit the field of invited participants to the best senior golfers, age 50 or over, as of 1982. He believes that the current USGA Seniors Open Championship and the PGA Seniors Champion should automatically invited, and indicates that Arnold Palmer would commit to participate in the event. He mentions that the rest of the field could be made up from a list including Gene Littler, Sam Snead, Don January, Roberto DeVicenzo, Billy Casper, Julius Boros, Ken Venturi, Miller Barber, Tommy Bolt, Peter Thompson, and Art Wall.
