This program from 1959 is from a concert given at Brandeis Univrsity that featured religious music by contemporary composers. The concert featured works by Brandeis faculty and alumni. This program gives us insight into Henri Lazarof's connection to Brandeis and also the musical culture at Brandeis in the late 1950's and 60s. For this concert, there were two premieres - Lazarof's "Canata" and Walter Piston's "Psalm and Prayer of David". Lazarof's composition was the result of an invitiation by the Brandeis Music Department.
