Letter from Laurence L. Doggett to Thomas D. Patton, dated January 20, 1916. In the letter, Doggett informs Patton that the college will be celebrating the students that are in the war and would like to have letters that can be read out to all the students and faculty still at the college.

Thomas D. Patton graduated in 1892. Patton was a good friend of Dr James Naismith and was asked to be a captain in basketball. After graduation, he became the secretary of Y.M.C.A's in many different counters such as China, Japan, or India. In 1915 he began working as an army work secretary supervisor in Winnipeg. He retired from secretarial work in 1926, but remained active in the community until his death in 1944.
