A two-page letter from Edger N. Smith to Laurence L. Doggett dated December 27, 1916. In the Letter Smith tells Doggett that he thinks the idea to give scholarships to Canadians that served in France is a great one. He also tells him how he has been doing and how Christmas on the front was for the solders.

Edgar Nelson Smith (1892-1963) was born in Brediton, Ontario. He enrolled in 1914 at Springfield College, but left in 1916 to join the YMCA work for the Canadian Troops during World War I. He went into the Jewelry Business. He died on May 19, 1963.
