A letter from Laurence L. Doggett to John E. Scott dated November 8, 1918. In the letter Doggett says that he is pleased to have gotten a picture of Scott in uniform. He also tells Scott what has been happening at the College.

John E. Scott, class of 1918, did not graduate from Springfield College. After finishing his first year at the college he took his second at Amherst College, but suffered a nervous breakdown and spent a Summer on a farm. After the summer he would join army to help in WWI. When the war ended he worked as Secretary for various YMCAs across America before retiring and operating a grocery store.
